holders is a generic term to mean any number of devices designed
to hold an id card. Many of these "id holders" are now being
used to perform additional functions. You'll find key holders,
pen holders and other specialty holders both blank and custom

Neck id badge holders
also referred to as lanyards ranges from the basic beaded neck
chain and cord to 3/4" wide cotton and nylon with various
hardware attachments. These lanyards made from flat cotton and
nylon material can be custom printed with names, logos and
messages. Prices range from the ubiquitous shoelace and budget
lanyards to the full featured quick-snap and quick-release
lanyards.

Retractable badge reels
come in a variety of styles and levels of durability. The most
common are the round and square shapes. Custom shapes such as
the heart nurse badge reel and other shapes are becoming more
popular. Most retractable badge reels are available with a
custom imprint. The plastic economy badge reels are the least
expensive and offer approximately 40,000 pulls. These reels are
available in a variety of colors and clothing attachment options
from belt clips and spring clips to bar pins and carabiner
clips. The more durable metal and heavy duty badge reels even
though stronger and rated at hundreds of thousands of pulls do
not offer as many clothing and object attaching hardware
options. Specialty retractable badge reels include key reels or
keychain reels, pen reels and retractable lanyards.

The most common wrist
lanyards are comprised of a coil or elastic cord material.
The coil wrist lanyards resemble a phones receiver cord.
Available in many colors it stretches out to approximately 12".
Available with split ring, snaphook or bulldog clip. Wrist
lanyards allows one to hold keys as well as an id card while
keeping both hands free.

id holder is to hold and id card. These plastic or vinyl id
holders are available in a variety of styles and configurations
in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The most common is
one that holds a standard size business card. Other sizes as
well as custom sizes are readily available. Clear 8 gauge vinyl
is the standard, but lighter and heavier weights are available
as well as color coding and custom imprinting of company names.
